Please come out and support the Chicago Hot Glass Throwdown. We are expanding. We will be the largest public glass studio in Chicagoland, but we need your help. Glassblowing and the glass arts are tremendous assets to Chicago. We understand that it is a little bit tight with the current economic hick-up, but without your support we may lose a valuable community and Chicago art form. If you have been here before please come back and bring a friend. We need your help to reach our goal of attendees for our build out and summer expenses. We have been working like mad to make sure it is the best glass event ever at Chicago Hot Glass. There will be glassblowers from all over the country coming to help us out. They will be competing for bragging rights and many great prizes and cash. See them make the best glass sculptures, best Venetian goblet, fastest goblet, best Venetian pitcher, best team event, best glass horse, the mystery object and many more.  There will be food and refreshments, bands, DJ's, fire dancers, dancing, glassblowing and you, our fellow Chicagoans. Please help us get the word out and please come out and keep us going for you, Chicago. We love you!!! :) You Rock!!!

Glass Installation at the MCAPERSONAL MANIFESTOS/PUBLIC CONTRADICTIONS:

THIS IS I/WE/YOU/US BELIEVE

An installation view in the MCA of the fused glass works suspended in front of text composed on the Chicago lake front with 23 Chicago Public School teachers.

Kiln casted glass created at Chicago Hot Glass in collaboration with C.P.S teachers, Michael Bancroft, Amanda Lichtenstein, & Jeremy Scidmore. Chicago Public Schools teachers visited CHG and created custom screens for screen printing enamel onto sheet glass. The painted glass was then stacked and fired to 1600 F in the kiln. The pieces were then water jet cut and shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art as part of an installation / performance on August 16th 2008.
